Mrs. Radke is entering her 11th year in administration and her 19th in NC education. She spent 6 years teaching Seniors (English Literature) at Garinger High School in CMS and 2 years as an Elementary Assistant Principal in CMS. She has never regretted her move to Union County. She started her Union County administrative career as an assistant principal at Piedmont Middle and then moved on to be the principal. Mrs. Radke is very married to Mr. David Radke and has one daughter, Erika Jane (8 yrs.). In her spare time Mrs. Radke enjoys photography, camping, riding horses, traveling, fly fishing and working in the yard and garden of her Mint Hill farm. She believes that each and every student at Piedmont Middle can learn.

I started my career in education in 1980 as a Physical Education Teacher. I graduated (twice) from Appalachian State University with a bachelor's degree in Physical Education and a master's degree in School Leadership and Administration. I have three incredible children Nathan, 27, graduate of both Johnson and Wales University and ASU, lives in Asheville, NC Rebecca, 25, graduate of North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem, lives in Nashville, TN Cyrus, 17, just graduated from Parkwood High School and accepted at Appalachian State University beginning fall 2008 Reading is my favorite thing to do.
